Kitchen Mastery: Elevate Your Cooking with Skillet Chicken Pasta

In the realm of culinary adventures, few dishes strike the perfect balance of comfort and sophistication quite like skillet chicken pasta. This delightful amalgamation of tender chicken, al dente pasta and a bit of spice is something that comes to mind when you think about how to elevate your cooking.

The key ingredient in any great dish is often what’s left over at the end of it. Whether it’s a leftover roast chicken or pizza crust for lunch yesterday, the same principle holds true — what’s left over after making a dish has all the power to transform it into something special. The same goes for chicken noodle lasagna, lasagne bake (or lasagne casserole) or even just plain spaghetti with cheese on top.

In this article, we’re going to explore how to make my favorite type of pan fried chicken noodle lasagne and why I love this particular recipe so much.

What Is Panfried Chicken Noodles?

Noodles are one of the most common ingredients used in Italian cuisine — they’re an integral part of lasagne lasagne, lasagne bake, and everything from ravioli to cappuccino. However, while many people think of them as just a way to fill up a meal, there are actually a lot more reasons to eat them than that. They can be utilized as the base for almost every pasta dish, which means that you can use them in different ways throughout the day. For example, instead of using noodles as a crouton, try adding them to sandwiches instead. Or instead of rice, try rice noodle bowls. Or if you want to keep things simple and just have a bowl of rice, consider having a bowl of nuggets instead, or simply serving them with some fresh veggies or fruit. Whatever you do, however, the fact is that pasta made with the right type and shape can add a level of richness and texture to the dish that will satisfy even the pickiest palate.

Panfried chicken noodles are typically served cold, but don’t worry. You can still enjoy your favorite foods like lasagne lasagne without worrying about reheating the noodles.

Ingredients Needed

Chicken:

Any type of chicken can work here. Whole, boneless chicken breasts are ideal, or go for thighs. But if you’re looking for something crunchier and flavorful, opt for either bone-in, skinless chicken or thigh meat. Cooking times: 1-3 hours

Pasta:

Al dente pasta is the perfect choice for this type of recipe. White pasta works best, but any shape will do. It doesn’t matter which shape you choose, as long as it’s not too thin or hard. Cooking time: 3-6 hours

Salt:

To enhance the flavors of the noodles and ensure that they remain crunchy, it helps to include salt in the pan. While regular table salt may do the job, you should feel free to experiment with additional spices if you’re feeling adventurous. Ingredients needed: 1 pound chicken breast, diced

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt

2 cloves garlic

2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 cup water

2 teaspoons ground black pepper

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup dry red chili flakes

2 cups chicken stock

2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

In a large saute pan over medium heat, heat the olive oil until it starts to shimmer. Add chicken and cook until light brown. Transfer to paper towels to drain and set aside.

In a small bowl, mix together the vinegar, flour, water, and spices. Sprinkle the mixture onto the chicken and then mix again until well combined.

In a separate pan, add 2 cups of chicken stock to the pan along with 2 cups of water. Bring the liquid to a boil and let it simmer until it begins to thicken. Once the sauce thickens, reduce heat to low and remove from heat and discard the pan from heat.

While the rest of the ingredients are being prepared, prepare the pasta. Start by mixing together the whole wheat flour and water in a bowl, then add the cooked chicken. Let sit for 15 minutes, or until it is completely cooled down. After that, it is ready to be incorporated into the soup.

Once the pasta is thoroughly chilled, drain it and add it to the soup along with the other ingredients. Mix well, then pour over the remaining chicken stock, then stir to incorporate.

Finally, sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the noodles and toss to combine. Serve immediately!

Cooking Tips: Use Medium Heat

While the pasta is boiling, the chicken breasts are resting, and everything else is being prepared, it is important to remember that while these steps may seem counterintuitive, if you follow the directions correctly, you should have enough time in between them to heat up everything before it boils. If not, the food could be ruined.

Use Glass Pots Instead Of Metal Bowls

It’s important to understand that in order to fry, you need to transfer the wet ingredients to the glass pots. Doing this ensures that you aren’t transferring moisture into the pot, as well as providing a more stable environment for the sauce to rise to the surface. When placing the pots, make sure to place the lid on top of the pot and press down the bottom to seal. The result is no splatters of sauce everywhere, and minimal waste.

Stirring Regularly

Even though it may seem like an odd tip, stirring frequently during the process can help prevent clumps that are formed as the sauce rises above the water. This, in turn, makes it easier to clean and keeps the pasta from sticking together as it bakes.

Use A Lid On Top Of Paper Towels

It may appear strange, but using a piece of paper towel directly on top of the pot is very helpful to prevent excess steam from escaping, while also helping to control the temperature within the pot. Simply wrap the paper towel around the rim of the pot, leaving the edges open, and the pot should remain hot enough to fry.

Use Large Baking Cups And Small Pieces Of Bread

To prevent the bread from becoming soggy, it is advised to use both larger baking cups and smaller pieces of bread. Using large baking cups can easily create room for more sauce when it comes to ensuring that each portion is sufficiently filled. Meanwhile, when frying large pieces of bread, it helps to cover the bread with foil or tin foil as it would be in a oven. This allows the bread to stay warm while the sauce cooks and prevents it from becoming soggy. Additionally, using smaller pieces of bread helps to avoid creating lopsided portions that might become difficult to manage while frying.

Inspect Each Plate Carefully

A little extra attention to detail is always welcome, as mistakes can mean a lot of time spent rethinking your decisions. Before putting anything into your pan to fry, ensure that it’s fully cooked before doing so. That way, you won’t accidentally expose yourself to harmful bacteria when you handle raw chicken. Also, if you are unsure whether your dish has reached its maximum capacity, you can leave out half of the chicken or remove any unused pasta. If the latter happens, your pan is probably already full. The good news is that once the pasta is added, there is plenty of space left. So, don’t feel like you have to double check before continuing.

You’re only halfway through the process of preparing a skillet chicken noodle lasagne, but there’s still plenty of time to get creative and customize your own version.
